چکیده

MCM: mucormycosis PAS: periodic acideSchiff INTRODUCTION Mucormycosis (MCM) is a fungal infection from members of the Mucorales order of fungi found almost exclusively in immunocompromised patients. The number of these infections seems to be increasing, presumably paralleling the increasing numbers of people with diminished immune surveillance. Primary cutaneous MCM in healthy patients is rare and, to our knowledge, the histologic presence of folliculitis has not been reported.

Mycobacterium fortuitum is a non-tuberculous fast-growing mycobacterium which is frequently acquired from environmental sources such as soil and water. Post-traumatic cutaneous mucormycosis in an immunocompetent patient.

Fungi of the class Zygomycetes, order Mucorales, cause deepseated infections in immunosuppressed individuals, such as those with hematologic malignancies, renal failure, diabetes mellitus, and patients on immunosuppressive therapy.1 Typically an airborne disease, primary infection is initiated in the upper or lower airways and is associated with the clinical development of sinusitis, rhinocereb...

Pseudolymphomatous Folliculitis on the Nose

Pseudolymphomatous folliculitis (PLF), which sometimes mimicks cutaneous lymphoma, is a rare manifestation of cutaneous pseudolymphoma and cutaneous lymphoid hyperplasia. We describe a 57-year-old Japanese woman with PLF on the nose that resembled cutaneous lymphoma clinically. The biopsy specimen revealed dense lymphocytes, especially CD1a+ cells, infiltrated around the hair follicles. Without...

PD-1, S-100 and CD1a expression in pseudolymphomatous folliculitis, primary cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MALT lymphoma) and cutaneous lymphoid hyperplasia.

BACKGROUND Pseudolymphomatous folliculitis is a lymphoid proliferation that clinically and histopathologically mimics primary cutaneous extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma). In this study, we assessed the diagnostic value of three immunohistochemical markers, programmed death-1 (PD-1), CD1a and S100. METHODS We evaluated 25 cases of cutaneous ...
